9th EUROMED MEETING – ECOLE D’ETÉ 2010

VADEMECUM/1

1. ADMITTANCE AND repêchage – All the candidates appearing in the temporary list on the website www.8tj.eu are considered ADMITTED to the Meeting 2010: both partial and total scholarship holders. Furthermore, some replacements and repêchages are possible from partial to total scholarships up to the publication of the definitive list of participants for 2010.

2. LUNCHES/DINNERS – Scholarships don’t cover food. Nevertheless, as every years, different buffets, cocktails, lunches or dinners are offered for free by the local partners.

3. HOW TO REACH CARIATI – All participants accommodate in the B&Bs located in the medieval historic centre of CARIATI. The little town, on the Ionic coast of Calabria Region (Southern Italy), can be reached:

a. by bus:

- from central - northern Italy: www.simetspa.it

- from the Adriatic coast: www.iasautolinee.it

b. by train: CARIATI railway station – www.trenitalia.it

c. by plane: airports of CROTONE (preferable) and LAMEZIA TERME

d. by car: A3 and then SS106 motorways (E90).

4. TRAVEL FEES – Scholarships don’t cover the travel fees to reach CARIATI.

5. COMPULSORY ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES – Scholarships (both partial and total) are tied to the effective participation from August, 22 (Sunday) to 12.00 p.m. of August, 30 (Monday). Before August, 22 and after August, 30 all fees are on the charge of participants. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LEAVE BEFORE 12.00 p.m. OF AUGUST, 30.

6. VISAS – In order to facilitate the achievement of the touristic visa necessary to reach Italy, the Association can send personal invitations to candidates. In this case, they have to communicate urgently the exact contacts of Italian Consulates where letters have to be sent.

7. ADVISES ON CLOTHES – We suggest all participants to provide themselves with tennis/trekking shoes for the excursions and with fit clothes for spending the night in the tents placed at our disposal by the Italian Army on the occasion of the excursion to Pollino Mount (NOVACCO – Saracena) at 1315 meters above sea level.

8. USEFUL BUDGET – The average budget for covering personal fees during the whole duration of the Meeting, from experience, is about 225,00 € (for total scholarship holders). Partial scholarship holders have to consider the additional amount of 225,00 € to cover accommodation fees in the B&Bs having an arrangement with the association (25 € per person, per night, breakfast included).

9. ACCOMODATION IN B&BsThe Euromed Meeting Staff is not responsible neither for the choice nor for the organizational management of beds’ placement in B&Bs.
